Looks like there's a hack to download email attachments and then view them, but you can't edit or save them.

I've used Documents To Go on my Palm all the time - I've written entire documents on them. It's great.

Is there a 3rd party docs ap (such as Documents To Go) available for the iPhone? I will get an iPhone for sure if the answer is yes. That's the only trivial point - I'm not ready to loose my docs ability.

You can't really install software as such,pretty much everything has to be a web app. I should think Google Docs or some other online hosted version would work well. With the iPhone about to go 3G, it's screen size is the perfect way to use AJAX stuff.

While we're talking about iPhones:

I know the iPhone can sync to a Mac via iTunes, but how does it go about syncing to a Windows with Outlook. Does iTunes have a conduit feature for Outlook? are there any issues?

IPhone has limited Outlook compatibility.

There are rumours that will all be fixed in a new version in a few months time.
