Hi.

I created a mobile version of my website several weeks ago, writing the pages using xhtml and using the mobile.mysite.com subdomain. Now many of the pages are showing up in the regular Google search index, even sometimes appearing above my regular website for certain keywords.

I thought that the mobile optimized pages would only show up when people used mobile search on their phones, but that does not seem to be the case. When I checked my stats, most of the visitors to the mobile pages have large screen resolutions.

Is there a way of making sure my mobile pages only show up for searches that come from mobile devices?

Try to do with Google Analytics allows you to make a mobile sitemaps part of the site as mobile pages are recognized. With Google you can in the <head> this string:
<link rel="alternate" media="handheld" href="mobile.mysite.com/index.html" />
