I recently had to swap out my linksys router because it was dropping the connection to my desktop. The old BEFSR41 didn't owe me anything.

When I put the new router in, a lot of my network apps werent' working (peer to peer network). It took a minute to figure out.

In NIS 2007, you set up the network trust based on the MAC address of the router. That meant that I had to go back into my three machines and set the "New" network up as a trusted network.

So, if you swap out any routers and you are using NIS 2007, make sure you check the trusted/restricted network settings and trust the new MAC address if that is what you want.
