Vivaldi Browser Hits Beta After More Than 2M Downloads [techcrunch.com]

Von Tetzchner believes there is a clear market for a browser like Vivaldi. Philosophically, the team is taking a very different approach from most other browser vendors. While most modern browsers try to simplify the browsing experience to the point where the browser UI essentially disappears, the Vivaldi team sees the browser as a tool that its users should be able to shape according to their needs.

I regularly use Vivaldi [vivaldi.com] alongside FireFox for my daily browsing. It has replaced Opera 12.x for me completely for the features I used to rely on, like the Notes toolbar.

I've been using vivaldi since it came onto the market, and haven't used Opera much at all since then, although FF is my default. I find Vivaldi a pretty good second browser for my desktop.

i've been using it too since i first read about it here at WebmasterWorld,
i was a very big opera fan ... and like those who have posted above me, i've been using it more and more, i still use both at the moment though (it's handy for various log-ins and cookies to use multiple browsers)
the pre-beta was pretty good and stable, so i'm looking forward to using the beta ... and beyond!
