How do you clear the cache in Opera 18?

The options to clear it don't seem to clear it!?

I've been debugging some pages using Opera's Web Inspector (the same as Chromes now). However, Opera seems to be caching the the hell out of everything and I can't seem to clear it?

Either in Web Inspector / Network tab > context menu and "Clear browser cache" (which I would normally do in Chrome) OR via the main menu... "More tools..." > "Clear browsing data".

Neither option seems to do anything, in so far as when I next refresh the page, Web Inspector reports that the same resources (JavaScript, CSS and images) are "304 Not modified" and pulled from the cache!?

(I follow exactly the same process in Google Chrome and the cache is cleared.)

Hi there penders,

I presume that Opera 18 is still in "Developer stream". ;)

CCleaner, as far as I can tell, has no problem clearing Opera 18's cache.:)

Penders, been there, it happens but not always.

I was modifying some parts of a new website, specially the external css and hate to clear FF cache because I use it intensively, so I was trying the new opera 18. WEIRD. A lot of times clearing the cache was WAY slow even that I was working with one webpage, one external css, 2 javascript and like 5 browsed websites. Why so slow? And not always the cache was cleared, I was seeing the same old content and css. I guess is like birdbrain says it, under developing?

Thanks for your replies. I shall have to try CCleaner. Can you easily set CCleaner (perhaps by way of a shortcut) to clear just the Opera cache, retaining the history, cookies, etc.?

A lot of times clearing the cache was WAY slow...

Did you get a tooltip-like notice at the bottom of the window reporting that it was "waiting for the cache" (or something like that)?

For me, clearing the cache appears to be instant - but it doesn't seem to do anything! When I clear the cache in Chrome, it's not usually instant, unless I've recently cleared it. (I do use Chrome a lot more for general browsing.)
