Why ? Because it is not faster than Firefox as said. May be it is faster when viewing (javascript) but when it is about loading a webpage, Firefox is the winner.
Bought a new laptop last week and installed Opera 9.5 and Firefox 3.0. My wife wanted to browse the Internet, I told her "Just use Opera, it is much better", so she opened two tabs and typed the URLs. And waited, waited and waited (i have a very slow Internet connection)...
She told me "That's odd, there are no indication or sign saying that it is working". So I said "It is working, it is just a slow connection, that's it".
After 4 minutes, she decided to open Firefox, type the two URLs and bam, within a minute, both pages were loading... Opera was just hanging.
And had the same experience today, Opera is hanging telling me he can't connect to the http while Firefox is loading very fast.

No way, I just upgraded to Opera today and it's blowing the socks off both FF2 and FF3 as far as page loads go. Some blogs I visit are excrutiating to load in FF that just snap to with Opera.
However, as far as sites not loading, I had a few that hand MSIE 7 that also load in Firefox so I think that Firefox might be a little more fogiving of certain javascript that makes other browsers spin off out of control.
