By the way, Google sites give me the trouble alot. Some sites don't either. Now I have turned images off and no hanging aven at G.

Do any of the pages have any items requiring a plugin, or is it just plain images? This kind of problem is sometimes related to blocked images or domains - are you blocking any content or ads via the browser? Also, does disabling Javascript (but not images) help at all?

Hmmm...good question about JS. Unfortunately, the Google pages that give me probs all "require" JS. I will experiment more w/o JS to see though.

I don't have any blocks set up and I don't think p;ugins are the cause either. Cpanel was giving me the same thing today. I haven't analyzed the code but I don't see anything fancy on a cpanel page.

I'll be taking some notes on what sites do this from now on.

I want to keep my opera!

If it is just Google, then they are notorious for using advanced Javascript/AJAX with no proper support or testing for Opera at all. Not just applications like Gmail, but also pages such as AdSense or other logged-in services.

You can try submitting the bug to Opera, but don't hold your breath - until Google decides to care there is little you can really do.

I can confirm that it is not just Google. cPanel has been doing it alot and they do have alot of JS code in their page. Also, the support software I use is hanging too. Never happened here though!

I've been getting the same behavior from Opera 9.10 for Windows - and I used to see it in another version many releases ago. I have the web developer's mode installed, but it's usually toggled off. I noticed that all I need to do to get Opera to show that it's finished loading the page is toggle web dev mode on.

Common places for this problem for me are Google Search and many .NET sites.
