Opera Overflow Mousewheel scroll bug

Looking for ANY fix to be able to scroll in Opera 7/8 overflow elements.

This is not another "I can't get opera to make overflow work correctly" post that I see all over the net. This is in regards to making an element that correctly displays the overflow to scroll when the mousewheel is used over the element. This bug has been fixed in Opera 9 but I still see a large number of people using Opera 8.

I do not care how messy or proprietary the fix is at all. I am simply looking for this fix. Anyone?

Opera 9 has been out so long that I can't see any excuse for still using 8. What more are we expected to do as coders? Cater for every bug fixed in later versions? Surely not. (Unless it's IE6). Forget this bug and tell your visitors to upgrade!
