Desktop browser
10 million (10,000,000) downloads of Opera 9 to date.
Top markets for the desktop in terms of usage: Germany, USA, China, Russia, and Japan.
Opera Mobile browser
More than 40 million phones were distributed with the Opera Mobile browser.
The Opera Mobile browser is offered for more than 50 different phone models.
More than 2.5 million downloads of the Opera Mobile browser so far this year.

None of them seem to like my site.

Since Firefox came out, Opera visits have dropped to almost nil.

Probably a good time to mention that Opera spoofs user agent very easily (and natively, out of self defense for bad code). Not all log anaysis packages pull out true numbers for Opera.

One site I work with (general public, not tech) shows over 8% Opera users. I well know it is the exception, but it is there. The regulars on that site started talking up Opera years ago, and that's what makes the difference.

Opera is on Nintendo DS and Wii too.

Properly detecting Opera when processing server logs is a trivial matter as it ALWAYS includes the word Opera in the UA string unless explicitly set not to for a specific site in one of Opera's config files. The highest market share I ever noted for Opera on my sites was 0.57%
