I'm Seth Rottman. I own adverting, marketing and PR companies. I'm possibly interested in using Wix Studio. What are the PROS and CONS of Wix Studio?

For a beginner WIX may be useful, but what you can do with is very limited. You don't have access to the backend like with WordPress and other CMS. You can only use the features that they provide. Nor can you customise it. It belongs to WIX and you cannot take it with you if you decide later to upgrade to a real website.

I think you can boil it down to one PRO, no maintenance as far as the backend is concerned. The CON mentioned by Kendo is a big one. If you want to move a Wordpress or Drupal site to another host it might take a half an hour to an hour with a little pre-planning. Might be longer if it's site heavy on images or videos but a lot of that is just waiting around. In comparison it can take many hours for even small site and days to weeks with larger site when moving a site from Wix because you basically need to recreate the entire site from scratch. If you are creating anything beyond a few pages I'd avoid it.
I had a client that was using a service like that from another provider. They had uploaded hundreds of images and didn't have copies. To get the original full sizes I had to use the web interface and spent hours going one by one to save to disk from web page because the only way to get to original file was opening it from a list of files. This is a task that is a couple clicks with FTP, walk away to get a coffee and it will be done when you get back.

I 100% agree with the comments about being locked in to the Wix ecosystem. It's a starter site, and most businesses will grow out of it. Put your own site up there and test it to gauge and understand the limitations, and benefits.

If you are thinking of constantly developing your site, I would not recommend it. Especially when there is a brand like WordPress, which is the world leader in free website applications and has unlimited plugin and theme support, I would not consider preparing my website with a closed developer whose budget will decrease and whose support will decrease over time.

Wix is a closed system. You are better off looking at WP or other CMS or hand rolling your own (coding). You won't be restricted to the limitations of Wix, of which there are many.
