Microsoft has added "Deep Search" on Bing as an enhancement to search.

Deep Search builds on Bing's existing web index and ranking system and enhances them with GPT-4. GPT-4 is a state-of-the-art generative AI LLM (Large Language Model) that can create natural language text from any input. In the case of Deep Search, GPT-4 takes the search query and expands it into a more comprehensive description of what an ideal set of results should include.

Hope it makes Bing more competitive.

I find it's better, but then, it's the lockout on mobile for the average user which makes the difference.

I hope Bing stops following Google and does something unique.

Hmm, interesting. It sounds like Microsoft is really focusing on improving the depth and quality of search results. I'll have to check it out and see how it compares to other search engines.

Huge. Microsoft is going to bring everything it's got while Google is tied up with DOJ. A very possible remedy would be for Google to get banned from paying companies to be the default search engine...I would love to see an Apple Search.

As with all recent innovation on the web time will tell if this is leap forward or two steps back.

So far, not bad!

It appears that Microsoft is putting significant effort into enhancing the depth and accuracy of its search results. I'm intrigued to give it a try and see how it stacks up against other search engines.

I am liking Bing for search at the moment.
Uncluttered layout, accurate results.

I think it could be used more effectively to combat spam.

Bing for me is the default search engine on Desktop and Mobile using the Edge browser. Microsoft changed many things after acquiring Github.

By coincidence I was looking for links that pointed to my dead stuff and found Bing much more useful. On Google I was getting about 5 pages of search results with the rubbish floating around the top. By rubbish I mean posts by people with an axe to grind. But on Bing I was getting 20+ pages of search results with less rubbish and that was found towards the bottom. I guess that says it all.

When I go looking for something I often decide to use Bing rather than Google.
Google SERPS are confusing and cluttered, Bing SERP is much cleaner.

I am hoping 2025 could be the year when we win significant business from Bing SEO or Bing Ads. We have been teased with some enquiries in 2024 but the actual winning of significant new customers has eluded us thus far.

Could 2025 be the year for Bing to come of age?
