Bing Update: Anyone Else Affected?

Bing seems to have made a design and / or rankings update.

Greetings,

I am wondering if anyone else saw a massive shift in Bing rankings around October 11/12th? Our Bing traffic is down ~50%, we are a technology-related site.

My hypothesis is that has to do with either the major design overall (looks like a direct copy of Google SERPs now), in combination with a Schema.org-related update. Doing cursory searches on top terms, I see many competitors now dominating the SERP snippets that we once occupied.

Interested to hear if anyone else was affected.

Best,
JC

Hard to tell anything. Is it not working in my browser, all I see are 2 numbers each in oddly styled box?

Yes Ive seen big changes in bing, definitely been updated. Yes bing serps are starting to look more and more like google serps.

Bing seem to be just copying what google do, its pathetic.

With more & more people being dissatisfied with google serps, both web masters and users, bing are in a good position to do things differently but they just follow Googles lead and copy whatever they do.

@shadowlight
bing are in a good position to do things differently but they just follow Googles lead and copy whatever they do.

Indeed, when I started a B Ads account they were keen I just copied everything over from then G Ads including bid amounts. There was no way I was going to do that, I wanted my B Ads to find their own level. I also think B search and ads should be finding their own way and producing a unique experience.

The last thing I want from B s a B with a G in front of it!

As of last night I have removed Bing off my mobile phone since it's turned into another Google.

The last thing I want to see when making widget keyword searches is a load of YouTube videos followed by several Pinterest, Houzz, Homeluf pages plus 90% US results in the UK SERPs.

Furthermore, even though I have the phone well and truly locked-down, Bing is tracking me regardless of my settings, they're also doing this on my desktop too.

DDG is, for the moment, easily my only choice yet even it serves up too many US results in the UK SERPs.

One of my web sites affected was/is in the technology sector as well. We used to rank very well on bing, but we also saw a huge drop off, much like the OP's stats, we have lost about ~50% of our bing traffic, this happened on December 1st, literally as soon as December hit, our web site was immediately hit.

I am hoping its temporary though, I am still monitoring some stats, smh...
