UK search seems quite stable at the moment

I am seeing different results too. Looks like an update.

Wikipedia ranking higher in my areas. Which is actually better than what they were offering.

I'm seeing some updates.. for me it looks like they have incorporated some "Freshness" into their ranking.. sites that are deeplinked but are stale have dropped a little bit meanwhile sites in comparible fields that offer more updated/fresh content and not quite as deep linked are ranked a bit higher.

Not updating for me here, but I noticed now that I take a closer look, that the result no. 10 is identical to result no. 11 (or no 1 on the second page) for some keywords. Not sure if that is a glitch or a coincidence!

I had been pretty vocal (if that's possible on a forum) about our lack of ranking in Bing and the lack of support from MS. Last night I was checking for our site name (which is unique) and I saw we were ranking #1 for the name. This never happened before. Sure enough, I did some testing (mentioned earlier) and I could see results flipping back and forth. In one set we ranked like we did in Yahoo and Google, in the second set of results we were no where to be seen.

Right now, Bing is sending us around 5% of our total traffic, which is right where we'd expect it to be.

Awesome ! My #1 rank for my biggest keyword dropped to #20 6 weeks ago. Is back at #1 now.

No idea why but hope it stays.

I'd posted awhile back about some basic redesigns destroying my site's rankings (i.e., adding a sidebar causing Bing to totally trash the ranking of very old sites). That looks like it's been fixed on all the sites it did that to in this update, which are back to ranking where they were.

I have seen for a number of years (before it was Bing) and now as Bing that your 1st page rankings will just go poof for no reason. You could be on the 1st page for a key terms for a couple months and then number 18-20 or lower for a period of time say 3 weeks. Then you check and your back to 1st page.

I have been seeing this for several years and the only thing I can figure from this is Bing's updates are complete just like each site is new and the site's power or strength is slowley added back to were you will bounce back.

My traffic from Bing surged very noticeably this week, today it stood at 21% of total search traffic which is ahead of Yahoo's 13% on the same site (many thousands of visits per day, it's a good sized sampling). Google still accounts for nearly two thirds but it's nice to see Bing take search seriously.

I was surprised .. to an extent .. when I discovered that a site I work with placed tops in all 3 (Yahoo, Bing, Google) .. usually it's up or down at various levels between the 3 .. never the same top spot at the same time.

Certainly not going to complain about it though.

Bing very unstable, top 3 1 week then gone for a few weeks then back to first page then gone again for a few more week back to first page again this week.

Kind of like revolving results every few weeks.

I am seeing and even different set of results now. We improved nicely in rankings only to drop down to page 2-3. Anyone else seeing this?

The only thing I'm seeing on Bing right now is crap results. For a while Bing's results were more relevant than Google's but it looks like Bing dropped the ball ... again. Good for Google!

Funny how the results are crap when your site don't show up.

The results are just as good or better than Google and yes I have some that don't showup and some that do. Same with Google expect Google results really are crap because their trying to give me what Google says I was searching for not what I was really searching for.

My sites DO show up and I have several number one positions on Bing. The problem is that a lot of spam shows up too.

About 2 months ago I adviced someone (an "average" user) to use Bing. He started using it and was very positive about it and even made it his default search engine.
Earlier this week I talked to him again. He stopped using Bing because he couldn't find what he was looking for and switched back to the good old Google.
