Still very new to Bing ads, wonder if people have seen what I'm seeing.
I frequently use both phrase and exact match on the same terms in AdWords. The main reasons:
- to gauge demand for exact term vs related terms, also
- cover related terms (obviously), and
- for Quality Score (I've read that you do not accrue QS for phrase match keywords)
So I've adopted the same system in Bing. However, the 'Showing Ads Now?' overlay for each phrase match k/w where I also have exact match keeps saying 'NO' with the explanation "You have multiple match types for the same keyword. If all of them match a query, we will choose a more restrictive match type than this one..."
Now (a) the Help page I'm directed to doesn't mention what to do (in fact it doesn't mention that this is even a problem) and (b) there are impressions shown for both phrase and exact match, and in many cases the number is lower for phrase match than it is for exact match. I am going to cross-reference the actual search terms for clicks and see if I can see for sure that the 'Showing Ads Now?' message is nonsense or not when I can but it's early days and so there are not always clicks on these keywords as Bing drives so little traffic compared to Google.
Any one else seen this?
