Hi all,

Im considering advertising via text links on msn conversation windows.

I was approached by a msn sales rep and show some stats on the targetting they can get which was quite good.

As expected the clickthrough rate is quite low, however the ads are sold in the millions of impressions.

Anyone have any experience with this kind of advertising?

Thanks! :P

Hi numbchuckskills,

i dont have any experiance, but the targteing is amazing, as everyone that signs in to msn is signed into a .net passport. you can target your EXACT demographics.

also using WLM/MSN for building a brand is very good, packs, background, emo's, dp and winks your logo everywhere your exact demographic is looking. yer sure it is on the expensive side but amazing reach!

we are recomending some clients to this service, holding our breath for good return.

Yes they do have some great data due to the content you are required to enter when signing up. (and also some data showing the accuracy of signup information) which leads me to the conclusion that the ads will be highly targetted.

I'm just not certain about how much clicking people will do from their conversation windows. (since i've never done it and use msn all the time! :D )
