But 3 days ago I found a $100 ad credit so I thought I'd give it a shot. The setup was OK, no real problems. But then I found out that ads have to be manually reviewed like at Yahoo. I couldn't believe it. Even YSM is getting more like google adwords so you think that MSAC would have gotten that. What's the problem with letting ads go live automatically? If you have the right filters built in like google does what's the problem. BTW, 3 days later I'm still waiting for the ads to go live.
Then I read that to change your bid or to add keywords you have to DELETE ALL KEYWORDS and start over! That's absolutely crazy! What the h*ll are they thinking?
Seriously..how UN-user-friendly can they be? This is a new system that could have been designed well (yeah I know it's MS and they don't have much of a rep for good design or forethought.) But geeze, at least you'd think they would have learned from YSM getting their butt kicked by google. BTW I'm not such a huge fan of google adwords either but they are the least crappy of the three. Come on MS you don't want to blow this too. This is supposed to be part of the new MS isn't it?
Anywho, just blowing off steam, shock, and disappointment.
At least from what I hear adcenter is giving better ROI than the other two. I can only assume that's because most companies don't have the patience to go through the cr*p to set up their ads so there's less competition.
I've got $200 in credit that expires soon and I'm not going to be able to burn through it because their web site is so bad and their policies are very limiting. If I can't spend free credit, how am I supposed to spend my own money?
You are lucky. I got to know the 200 coupon (DM21106) but it turns out it does not work at all. I tried several times but always received the same msg : this particular promotion code has already been redeemed.
(coupon is here, though it does not work at all. Is that the typical M$ way? [startadcenter.com...]
