Microsoft, how can you design such a horrendous user interface? How is it even possible to be so bad at design?
They just updated it on 8/5. One of the new features was to allow custom date ranges when viewing your campaigns, circa Google AdWords 2003. Even this small feature they couldn't implement without screwing it all up. They don't even actually allow custom ranges, only a few pre-defined options are allowed. *sigh* Are you serious?
Has anyone here even bothered tweaking their campaigns? I have just left my campaigns there to run. It is literally impossible to do anything with them using the UI. You can't really add keywords on more than the smallest scale, you can't manage keywords if your life depended on it. I mean you can't even sort anything because as soon as you click on the next screen it resets the sort to the default. *lame*
This is a brand new system. They could see everything Google has done and improved upon it, or at least copy it for Christ's sake, but no they prove that they are completely incompetent in every single way.
Does anyone agree with me? Does anyone even use adCenter? Traffic ain't too bad but the UI is a joke. I know I know, I should just use the API. I will, but it's no excuse for this mess of a system.
Sorry, had to vent.
Now with the last update its possible to edit campaigns. They put conversions back into the display. Leaving out custom date ranges was a mistake, yes. My data stays sorted when I go to the next screen, but it needs to stay as default when you log back in.
The import function works now, I have no problem loading 1000's of keywords, except the error screen rarely shows anything.
Sure there are still significant problems, but nothing compared to 6 months ago. And the bottom line:- Adcenter makes me money.
I have been a PPC advertiser since 2002 with the big two and a number of smaller ones.
I still can't figure out AdCenter.
I supposedly have a number of clicks since I started and yet when I try and analyse which terms the clicks are coming from I just can't get there. The first page tells me I have, say 100 clicks, since I started. When I click on the campaign to see which terms are getting clicks and impressions it only shows me around 15 clicks.
I then tried to run a report. I put in the parameters - keyword analysis, this month and click run.
Page refreshes and...nothing.
I go to recent reports and...nothing.
Am I just being stupid or missing some internal secret?
Please would one of the more experienced AC users please direct me.
Adcenter works for me and its pretty intuitive. Perhaps Google and Overture suck so much than you learned there goofy way of trying to do stuff :)
That's a big help!
I just spent the last half hour trying to generate reports without luck.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've read the help section without any clue as to what is wrong.

I'm using IE 7 in XP and IE 7+ in Vista as well as Firefox 1.5.0.6 in Vista and i'm not having any navigational issues or reporting issues.
I've been using adcenter since first public beta announcement and it has matured a bit and the concept of how it is managed varies greatly from Overture and Adwords but i like it better.
Figured i would throw in my opinions since everyone else has just complained about it :)
Here is the process I'm using.
(1)Log in: I see a page with my 2 orders under 1 campaign.
It indicates that I've had x number of clicks - let's say 100 for the sake of conversation - 50 in one order and 50 in the other.
(2) I go to reports page. I select "keyword performance" in one box. "Summary" in another box. "This month" in another box.
(3) I click "run report"
(4) Page refreshes and ... nothing.
(5) I go to "recent reports and...nothing.
It's obvious I'm missing something really basic.
Can anyone suggest what it might be?
Thanks!
