Follow up question: I just looked in the tracking settings in IE 10, and it looks like there are a lot of things that might be turned off by default, but I'm not sure. The terminology isn't very clear, and I don't know what all the things in the list are. Can someone tell me exactly what is turned off by default?

This is my day for "funny you should say that" because only yesterday I noticed "Dnt:" headers for the first time. (Quick check shows that I've been getting them for ages, just never happened to notice before.)

Ongoing question: The browser's prefs typically say something like "(don't) allow websites to track me". Is it assumed that the user knows what this means? Personally I have absolutely no idea-- and I kinda think I know marginally more than the statistical average MSIE user. What, if anything, does my server do with the header?
