Don't download this browser, you will seriously regret it. I downloaded it thinking I could use it side by side with IE 8, but it overwrites your existing install.

IE 9 is currently crap. A lot of sites look like garbage on it, specifically the fonts. It has no search bar like IE 8 so it's fairly useless as well (and the Google toolbar does not work on it either). You can technically search by entering your term into the address bar but it doesn't really work. Try it a few times and you will see what I mean.

I loved IE 8, except for the slow JS. If all they did was make the javascript engine faster on IE 8 I would consider it the best browser. But it seems they are going for the Chrome approach. I like minimalism as much as the next guy but I require a search bar as I use it a billion times a day. And no, typing a search query into the address bar is not the same, it's stupid.

On one of my long standing sites, IE9 Beta does not show Google maps. There is just a big empty space where the map is. Not sure if this is a config problem on my side or a true bug. Either way, it's not good.

Works fine for me. If you guys are having problem, open up the internet options, clicked tab and select that big reset button near the bottom.

I see some quirks no doubt, but i haven't found anything that doesn't work or is broken beyond use. In fact, was quite surprised how unbroken it turned out to be.

Google Maps appear broken with IE9.

Google maps is also broken in Opera 10.62 [webmasterworld.com] so you can hardly blame Microsoft for that. Google has some serious JavaScript cross-browser compatibility issues in their geo products.

Been there, done that on my Vista laptop. Not a happy camper... can't get it off... yet but I will.

That said, on the Win7 it's a champ. Scratching head why such a dog on one machine, such as sweet puppy on the other, and ticked it won't load on xp64 at all. :)

Then again, I'm a Firefox guy and don't worry about it over much... just trying to figure out what to tell my clients who succumbed to the fatal attraction. :)

Well, IE9 might downloaded 6 million times or so but that doesn't say a thing. Question is how many are using it as their daily browser after they downloaded it. That number could be much, much lower.
Website statistics will reveal that eventually.

The Search Bar is integrated into the address bar like Chrome, works fine for me.

I quite like IE9, still has some quirks, but then again it is a Beta release.

I'm seeing some weird problems with border-radius when used with vertical-align:middle in IE9 that no other browser experiences. In IE8 the problem is gone (because border-radius is not rendered). Also border-radius of 3px is not visible on larger objects when it's visible in every other browser. When you bump it to 3.6px, suddenly it's visible.

No you won't. Just file a bug (it is a beta). [connect.microsoft.com...] or click "Send Feedback" from configuration screen.

I am not having any problems with the IE9..I love it. You dont need a seperate search bar in IE9. You can type in directly in the address bar and it searches in the SE you preselected.

Yeah, the 64-bit Flash plug-in is still in beta though. It works fine in my virtual PC, but I'd be wary of using that on a production machine just yet.

hmm, I guess i can then still enjoy a flash free web surfing in IE x64.

It really is wonderful not having ads jump in your face or say " YOU WON " everytime you visit a webpage. I've gotten so used to it I might not install it.
