Microsoft's innovative mixed reality headset, HoloLens 2, starts shipping to its pre-order customers.
You've got to admit, it has some great potential. That demo of the Japanese translation for the keynote is rather impressive. I think we're going to see a lot more of this.
This is an incredible piece of technology. I can think of many applications for this both as an educational tool and for entertainment purposes. Would love to see how it appears to the user rather than just the simulation.

Has anyone actually used this tech in the real world?
I've heard about it for years, but never even seen it ... anyplace that sells tech ... that I could try it out.
Remains a mystery to me. Though science fiction becomes fact every day, and that's a good thing!

Tangor, it's only just been shipped to preorders and unlikley to be readilly available to try. The videos demonstrate it, and it looks impressive. Quite likely the preorders are for businesses rather than consumers.
