Microsoft has reported a Q3 revenue of $22.1 billion, on income of $5.6 billion, with cloud-based services showing strong growth to $6.8 billion.

Some items I picked out:-
LinkedIn contributed $975 million to the quarter.

Interestingly, it reports search advertising revenue up 8%.

Surprisingly, Surface revenue was down 26%.

Sad to hear that as I really dig my Surface, but I do think they are a bit too expensive compared to other M$ products.

Apple could probably get away with charging that hefty price for a notebook, but this was a bit of a stretch for M$.

The lower spec, less expensive models really don't do well with the resource heavy software the Surface was designed to run. So my advice to anyone who is considering the Surface is to go for the loaded model.
