I used to be the guy who loved to work with the beta stuff. No more. Three years ago I started getting burned. Even by Apple, who typically sent out rock solid stuff. Now, there has to be a compelling ($) reason to look at ANY upgrade. And, beta? Forget it. You go first.

I'm setting up a firm now with Google Apps for Business, especially email. 40 seats at $50 a year per seat. Plus what I'm charging them to set it up and be their go-to guy. (million$).

It's a high security situation (medical and finance), but this year Google got that nailed down, finally.

You work with the small firms who are struggling to keep up tech-wise, control costs and, most of all, stay focused on their enterprise instead of admin, and the cloud looks smart. I wonder about some those here (you-know-who-you-are) who are maintaining a bank of servers in room down the hall.

Apple has hired the General Manager of Microsoft's data center operations, Kevin Timmons, the man who's responsible for Microsoft's data centers that power the company's cloud-based services. It most likely foretells a big Apple push into the cloud.

Good thing I know for sure is for small business. Office 365 will also give a flexibility to active subscribing user to have one free copy of Office Professional Plus..and that is good for sure for all those desk less workers.
