Ray Ozzie, who joined Microsoft five years ago as chief software architect and played a large role in developing the company's cloud service offerings, is retiring.
CEO Steve Ballmer said Ozzie will stay with the company through a transition period and then a bit longer to consult on some entertainment-related projects. Beyond that, Ballmer said, Ozzie has no specific plans.

Surprised no one has replied to this post. Personally, I am really surprised at this: M$ has hyped Ozzie's job at the company so much, they seemed to have so much riding on him: it looked like they wanted him to be the next Bill Gates styled techie to be part of the duo of running M$ with Ballmer.
Not good for M$ IMHO.
