Mobile redirect does not work if accessed with a link

I have created a mobile site for [tkdconstruction.com....] On the Home page there is a link to the BBB's website. The client claims up and down that when he clicks that link from a mobile device he is not delivered to the mobile version of the BBB website; he goes to the full-sized site. I cannot duplicate the failure, but of course I can't test every possible mobile device.

My guess is that the BBB website does not recognize his particular mobile device.

But my question is this: is there any possible for my link to the BBB site to be the causing this failure? Ideas?

Oh, lordy. Does the client think that you are responsible for the BBB's website? Does he also think that you cause the rain and the wind? Can you do something about that pothole?

Does your own site have a separate mobile version? If yes, you could give it an explicit link to the mobile version of the target site. At that point it's definitely the BBB's problem if your client is redirected. But really, it sounds like it's their problem anyway.
