How to transfer visitors to mobile site?

We created a subdomain that is responsive design for mobile users. We want to keep Google happy in how we get visitors to the mobile ready site.

How would you suggest to do so?

1) Put a code on all the desktop pages to auto-route to mobile home page?

2) your option?

Our main site is HTML and our subdomain is wordpress responsive. Any ideas on how we should get people to the mobile site and keep Google happy?

The whole point of a responsive design is to serve the same HTML to every visitor and the responsive aspect will adjust to the screen size (magically), therefore making this sort of thing unnecessary.

But to answer your question, without naming names, use your favourite search engine and search for "mobile detect".

If you have more than one version of the site-- whether by subdomains or separate directories or any other method of your choice-- make sure every page has a link that lets the user transfer to the other version. Transfer them to the same page; don't start over again at the root. Store the preference in a cookie, especially if the user has chosen something other than what the site would have predicted.

It's trivial to make responsive visuals based purely on viewport width. It's not so trivial if there's a user interface involving actions other than clicking.
