Serious yet Trivial Question

Actually from memory this also applied to earlier Windows versions as well. Every so often to clean up disorganised desk top short cuts I right click on my desk top, "Sort by/Name"

Every time it has always and still does sort Z to A. You have to repeat once again to get A to Z

Is this "back to front"presentation an American thingy? I've had it happen at Amazon as well. Also at Amazon for nearly two decades your payments record was illogically started off with 1998 quarter earnings.

I think AdSense for a long time did the same with June 2003 earnings first. A million miles of payments to scroll down until you got to the recent. Fortunately sanity eventually prevailed.

Maybe it is just a Northern Hemisphere thingy caused by your water going down the plug hole the wrong way?

It's not a drama, it's just that enquiring minds need to know.

Never noticed that...
I just popped open a couple of VMs that run Windows 7 and 10 and ran a test on the desktops. Both sorted A --> Z on the first round.
The Aurora Australis must be playing tricks on you down there. ;)

@IanCP ... I have had the same behavior since Win98. About the only thing that sorta makes sense is the first sort does it by folders then excuatables, the second toggles to alpha (back and forth). I have always had to sort by name twice to keep the one I want. :)
