I haven't chose that option but suspected there might be something surprising. 2 hours to config after update is a ridiculous amount of time to wait.

I actually sat through an update earlier today on my desktop work machine and it took an additional amount of time to config. I thought it odd since it was the first time I'd seen this from Windows 10.

I saw it added some Social Media short-cuts and an option to sync all my FB friends to my contact list (like FB is always trying to do with my phone.)

There was some rhetoric about keeping the internet safe and secure in an attempt to define the reason for the update. I guess they're receiving feedback wondering why all the updates.

Almost three hours now, and it's asked me to log in, and telling me "we have some updates for you"
Note, this is the Fall Creators Update on this machine.

At last, the machine is almost ready to be used!

Ahhh... that was a big one.

But IMO kind of a waste if you don't use the studio with the touch screen, stylus, and the 3D software. On my old bare bones desktop work machine it was a waste. On my Surface, it really work up the device's potential.

Of course there's all the other stuff we never see.

I did it last week and I chose to start it when I was going out. I think it took three or four hours.
