Microsoft has said it'll be introducing better user control of Windows 10 updates with the Creators Update.
Additionally, and perhaps bowing to pressure from regulators, Microsoft is going to make it easier to control privacy-centric features.

I never had an issue with the updates since they were easy to postpone until later, but I know a lot of people complained about it. Hopefully this helps them.

One of the biggest problems for me is the length of time the updates take, and to reboot. It seems like an eternity.
Also, as i don't leave equipment on overnight, there's no update taking place at that time. If you shut down, the update sometimes starts, and then when you boot up the next day you've got to wait for the updates to finish. Seemingly, another eternity.

The privacy issue is an interesting one, and I hope to see more opportunity to fine tune and to limit the tracking.

Aha, I'm not the only person to complain about the drip feed of updates [major ones]. I'm in a similar situation as yourself Engine.

I disabled the service, and run it when I remember to do it... not super efficient form the perspective of applying ASAP, but I want to be the "click man"

I also run when it suits - it is still drip fed though.

Hope their updates will be better because now I have problems with my programs after each Windows 10 update
