Microsoft has said its Windows 10 Anniversary update will roll out on August 2, and it will come with two additional security features: Windows Hello for password secure sign-ins, and improvements to Windows Defender. Most likely the latter is to help protect those that just don't bother with third party security software. For some people i know, the idea that Windows Defender will help protect their machines is a great thing. I have been helping friends cleaning up their systems for too long now.

For those on the enterprise, this caught my eye.
the Anniversary Update delivers Windows Information Protection, formerly referred to as enterprise data protection. Windows Information Protection enables businesses to separate personal and organizational data and helps protect corporate data where ever it goes.

Isn't it also the version that will provide support for Linux command line tools?

I believe the bash tools will be baked in to Windows10 for this release. [webmasterworld.com...]

Notably, this update will come after the offer of free Windows 10 upgrades ends on July 29. Now might be the time some of you consider looking into ways to secure your free Win10 upgrade while still using your older version of Windows. [webmasterworld.com]
