what happened to your vista OS ? ( presumably on the same Dell laptop ? )..( re your other posts ..most of the gamers ( and especially the game designers and builders )that I know ..and who know stuff about apps like milkshake ..and talk of how hard it is to hack into game code [depends how good one is ;) ] ..know about penguins and opening flavours of doze and where things live in it ..

Mine's in windows\system32\drivers\ if you're trying to find the directory.

Have you checked the filepath using the Device Manager's driver information capability? Also, you could try a 'driver rollback' if the most-current file is not on your machine and you can't download it into the machine from Dell.

and the question about gaming did not reflect the intelligence of someone greatly familiar with gaming manipulation, thus the detailed answer leo.

so how is your vista ? after accusing us of being "secretive" you went quiet ..
makes one very reticent to spend time on "your problems" in other threads ..
especially as you miss out the really important items like why not just re-install the XP OS ( on the original XP disc ..or the Dell OEM one that came with the machine ) and thus avoid the grief ..and again ..if you think that your ethernet itself may be bad ..run a live penguin at it and see ..on OEM doze your drivers are machine specific ..but they dont move around :)

unless your XP is "special" it should be where jim said it would be .( otherwise the OS would never find it ) ..even "nlighting" XP down to bare bones minimum doesnt usually move the place where drivers roost ..

In the device manager, delete the device, exit and restart the computer. It should be redetected automatically. If not, you can run the Add Hardware wizard in Control Panel.
