Metabase.xml & Creator/owner permissions

Won't keep permissions auto resets.

Everytime I try to add creator/owner with full control over C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\metabase.xml

It resets and removes the creator/owner account from permissions.

How do I fix?

I don't see anything in the MSKB about that file. Are you logged in as Administrator on the PC?

yes logged in as admin. Very strange and only on this one file so I believe that the metabase.xml gets it's permissions from another overriding source

One way to log in without a lot of extraneous services running is to log in via Safe Mode. You might be able to set the permissions that way.

If that doesn't work you can try running msconfig. You can selectively turn off services and startup programs from there.
