Our company has a strict policy of no Vista for at least a year, so until a colleague mentioned it, I was unaware that there were Adobe/Vista compatibility problems. Googling around, looks like she is right. Quite apart from things like wiring diagrams being downloadable from our site, we use Acrobat 3D which makes PDF a tremendous asset when discussing a new product with overseas colleagues, and with our major customers. A screw up between reader and Vista is the last thing we need.

Looks like there may be a solution:
Acrobat ( and I think Reader) 8.1 coupled with a Microsoft Hotfix [support.microsoft.com] is a workround, according to this Adobe Tech Note [kb.adobe.com].

Two things:

1. Will the Hotfix have been issued as an automatic Vista update (I rather fear not).

2. Strictly, the Adobe tech note applies to Acrobat 8.1 - can anyone confirm that it also apples to Reader 8.1?
