WinXP how to set service process priority?

I want to set the process priority for the MySQL service to low on start up

I am trying to figure out how to set the process priority for the MySQL service (and other services) to low on startup. Does anyone know how to do this? I can't even change the process priority of MySQL via the Task Manager bacause I am given an access denied error.

There are times that I need to start really processor intensive MySQL queries that I know will take a couple of hours to complete and I'd really prefer MySQL to really only use spare CPU cycles to work on the task at hand so that I can continue on and do other things with my computer.

I'm not sure how to do it at startup, but if you use Process Explorer (ProcEXP) at www.sysinternals.com it will allow you to change it's priority anytime after startup (even the ones TaskMan cannot). Think about it like TaskManager on steriods. Anyone who runs servers on their WinPC needs this.

You wouldn't want to do it at startup anyway, especially if you can't change it after.

Thanks, ProcEXP isn't what I'm really looking for, but it would be a good fallback position.

Actually I do. The reason is that I only use MySQL for development and every now and then I will create a bad query that will lock my system down. If MySQL was always running at low priority, I could maintain enough control over my system that I could quickly go into Windows Services and shut down MySQL. As things are now, this can take a few minutes of painstakingly clicking and patience.
