Interesting release, it seems they are moving ahead with the mini. Way ahead. For a while it looked like it might be sidelined. I use one old mini for a specific task that newer models deprecated, and have thought seriously about whether updates would make a mini my next desktop machine. It is tempting.

Bottom line is that, unless you need the computing power, the Studio is actually the better value - slightly lower price, more ports, better cooling.

That's kinda the situation I find myself in. I'm replacing an old trash can Mac Pro which is more than adequate for my needs but doesn't run the latest OS and probably costs me a fortune in electricity (it's a little furnace!) I was going to buy a higher end Mini, then realized I don't really need THAT much computing power and the low end Studio (with 32 GB of RAM) will do the trick for me - for years to come I expect…

I noticed that but did not take notes. Thank you for looking into it. The newer processors really bump the speed so the Studio is another to keep an eye on.

The pricing is middle-of-the-road, a good place to be for consumers at this time.
