Apple has started to collect maps data using people wearing back-packs throughout San Francisco, Almeda, Los Angeles, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz.
pedestrian teams will operate in these counties, but it is not known whether there are plans to expand the data-gathering exercises to other areas.
