In conjunction with iOS 10, macOS Sierra has a new feature called Universal Clipboard, which allows you to copy and paste stuff from your phone to your laptop and vice versa, provided they’re using the same Apple ID. No extra steps are required—just use the copy and paste commands as you normally would and you’ll find everything runs seamlessly.

I can't tell you how many times I would find something on my phone and then have to email it to myself so that I could see it on my Mac. This is a great timesaver.

Oh yes, i'm the same: I end up e-mailing myself all the time.
Although, emailing is handy when i'm away from my desk and I want to get the link when I return to my desk. I usually schedule the e-mail to go out to at a convenient time, rather than straight away.

I can't wait to try the Universal Clipboard

By any chance does this require setting up icloud? It looks like you would need to be logged in on both devices. I normally log out of the ID when I'm not actively using it. Not in a big hurry to see Sierra either, but often have wished for a way to share like this.

You would have to be logged in with your Apple ID to be able to work across devices.

If you're on your mobile or tablet you're logged in to use it. I never tried it on the desktop without being logged in.
