Hurrah, hurrah, does that mean I can get everything onto a single desktop? And that's speaking as someone who had That ### U2 Album sitting on the iPad for MONTHS before I figured out how to make it go away for good (and I'm still afraid it will rematerialize next time I have to synch).

Now the question is: What new features will iOS 10 have that we don't like, and have to put up with just for the tradeoff? The last two times I paid money for a software "upgrade", the new version turned out to have at least one feature that I disliked so vigorously, I promptly reverted to the previous version. Shades of Word 6.

Right. Once upon a time I was on the bleeding edge of new updates. Now it's always "you go first." This is why I'm still on Maverick. I depend on "spotlight" to search my Mac to find what I need quickly. They way Apple has changed it makes it less useful to me.

Funny you should say that. I caved in and "upgraded" from 10.6 to 10.9 when it was free. It's got maybe one new feature I like, while getting rid of several others I liked. Even going from 10.4 to 10.6 meant leaving a couple of things behind.

But then, I generally liked the Classic user interface better. She said, dating herself. It felt as if I had more control over what I see and how I interact with the machine. Matter of fact, each successive system upgrade over the last 20-plus years has provided a less useful version of Help. I liked the one that gives a popup box-- immediately, not after playing dead for several minutes-- and draws a red ring around the part you need.

Especially when they've become so good at hiding things. "Dammit, I only just saved that file, where the ### did they put it?"

They lost major points with me when they changed the tag colors to little dots. Maybe fine for lots of people but when a folder may hold a couple of cards of images for one event it was much simpler to categorize/classify them with the full highlight. Not all "improvements" are welcome. Choice is a good thing. :)
