Apple Releases Update To Mountain Lion OS [bbc.co.uk]
Apple has announced the latest version of its Mac operation system will be released on Wednesday.

OS X Mountain Lion makes it easier to share material to social networks and also introduces a notification panel similar to that found on many smartphones.

I would advise anyone looking to update to wait a few days. There will inevitably be some revisions after 100's of thousands of users start to push all of the shiny new buttons.

Another one? They're going to run out of cats and I haven't even upgraded to Lion. But then, I never did fully assimilate all the new bells & whistles in 7.5. :(

This update integrates the desktop OS a lot closer to the iPad and iPhone. You will be able to text from your Mac and post directly to Facebook, Flickr, Vimeo and Twitter from within most apps.

There's a new Notification Center like on the other devices and so much more. Voice integration will also be available in most apps. It's not Siri, it's more like Dragon Dictation.

As far as cats, yeah, they're running out of options. Maybe the next one will be Tortoiseshell or Tabby.

Here is a listing of the new features: [apple.com...]

Lucy, FYI, you have to be running at least version 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to upgrade to Mountain Lion.
