New Mac Trojan horse disables Apple's automatic malware updates

New Mac malware has been found masquerading as a Flash installer:

The good news is that you can only get infected if you double-click on a rogue file masquerading as a Flash installer. The bad news is that if you do fall victim to the Trojan, it disables your Mac’s automatic malware definition updates.

Exactly! Mac's are novelty niche computer which hackers rarely bother to write virus/worms malware.

True, Mac's are no longer a novelty or a niche product. They do not have nearly the market share that Windows has, but it is growing... quickly... and it makes them a target for bored hackers now more then ever before.

I use eset on PCs and Macs, have never seen a problem. 'Course I don't click on every shiny thing I see either, but believe safe is better than sorry.
