Dreamweaver - CMS joomla?

Hi,

I am after some help and or advice.

I am a graphic designer, usually for print but often get asked to design simple websites. I do this using the latest Dreamweaver softwares.

It works great, but I am often asked for the client to be able to log in to their site & update a couple of little bits.

This is where I get stuck. Dreamweaver takes care of all of the technical stuff for me.

I am looking into CMS, Joomla etc ... but does that mean I have to forget about Dreamweaver now ?

Is there any easy way to add a page or two to a site, where a user can upload a couple of job vacancies ... or change a bit of text ?

I appreciate any help or advice that can be given.

I use Macs & always have done.

For someone such as you, Joomla might be a good solution since you're working for others but you want to use Dreamweaver.

As you can see, this is a serious piece of work. But, what you are providing your clients is a serious, big-time benefit. They may be making casual changes, but it is not a casual admin.

I have one webmaster who is setting up Joomla systems, but what we are doing for many clients is using Website Tonite templates and setting up accounts for them there. Your HTML expertise will still come in handy here sometimes (maybe), but you will not need Dreamweaver.

This is what works for us on "simple websites."

is there the option to add just one page to a dreamweaver site where a client can add and remove items ?

If you give your client permission to publish articles as an "author" on your Joomla site, they will be able to add and modify items that they create as they see fit.

This should help clarify the different group access levels in Joomla:

Not at all! Dreamweaver is indispensable regardless of what CMS drives your website in the end. I use a variety of CMSs but Dreamweaver/Photoshop are always, without exception, the conceptual templating drawingbaord/springboard/playground combo! :-)
