Upgrading to 10.5.6

Backup involved

I have a Mac at work which i use for my designing. I was given version 10.5.6 pf OSX Leopard.

I have all kinds of stuff on this machine. Files, folders, music..etc... Adobe CS3, and some other installations...

do i need to worry about backing up with an upgrade?
never done a Mac upgrade before...

is it going to wipe everything out?

Tony,

Always, Always, Always, Always, Always make backups.

You most likely will not have a problem with any of your files, but I don't think that anyone here would advise you to not make a complete backup before you make an upgrade.

Right. Backup.

It is unlikely you'll have a wipeout, but going to Leopard was not the typical smooth Apple experience for some.

You will love Leopard, however. Do invest in an external hard drive and use Time Machine.

Going to 10.5.6 is wise. Snow Leopard 10.6.2 has not impressed me, however. It's cheap, but not worth the hassle.
