New Apple keyboard

Issues with caps lock key

I recently bought a new Apple keyboard http://www.apple.com/keyboard/ [apple.com]. It's great, except for the fact that the caps lock key does not work very well. It seems slightly at an angle (unlike the rest of the flat keys). The impact of this is that, when one types quite fast, the caps lock key does not toggle (The light does not even switch on/off, unless I pause to force the key down.)

Has anyone else had the same problem and could you suggest a better keyboard?

I bought a new Apple keyboard about 6 months ago. I haven't had the caps problem but I have to hit the space bar right in the center or it won't work--very annoying. I searched for info and found this to be a common problem with that keyboard. I loooooove the keyboard on my iBook however!

SilverLining,

Sounds to me like a defective keyboard. You should return it. The ones we have here work fine.

travelin cat, I've returned it and the second keyboard does exactly the same. Similarly to Lorel's annoyance, I have to hit the CAPS key right on the edge.

SilverLining,

Did you buy it from an Apple store? If so, bring it back to them and have them check it out on their machines. It seems odd that you would get two defective keyboards.
