Hesitant connection with 1.4.10

I've got an OS X server running 10.4.10 and sometimes when I ping, I get no response, sometimes it is fine. Sometimes when I go to the http site, it lags, sometimes not. Same with ftp.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? We're colocated with cihost which has been fine up until now.

That really sounds like a network issue, rather than a problem with the box.

You can check the Activity Monitor in /Application/Utilities to see if maybe something is thrashing the processor.

I did set up a virtual server - I can't imagine this would do it, but maybe I set it up wrong (though it does resolve correctly...)
