Activation of network connection failed

Hey all!
I am a complete newbie to Linux. I've just switched from the ever buggy windows 10 to Linux mint. The installation went smoothly, but the only things started to go bad when I ran the first set of updates through the update manager and installed them. This is when I started getting the message "Activation of network connection failed". My wifi keeps disconnecting at the random intervals with this message every time and it will take some time to reconnect eventually just to repeat this.
Anyone, you face this issue before. If then how to solve the problem?
Thanks for any help.

What distro?

What hardware?

Are there more updates available?

Have you tried an ethernet connection?

Have you looked at the distro forums to see whether other people are reporting the same issue.

welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com], debrartin!

i agree with graeme_p - this is likely to be specific to a distro and probably even a specific version or perhaps a problem with specific hardware.
