Basic Linux Distro with a Slideshow

We have a little shop and i'm thinking of reusing an old spec laptop to display a slideshow.

the laptop would only have to run the slideshow and as a bonus be able to show the company website (live) from a wireless connection.

is this something any lite distro could do? i'm assuming that the web stuff is a given, but the slideshow? (given a folder of jpgs)

i'm happy to play around with something but i'd rather not waste time on a distro that isn't going to do what i want pretty much out of the box ... it needs to be quite lightweight as this laptop is pretty old.

Any distro can do it. The software would be a separate question. Whether a distro includes any such software is the question but you might be able to find some software that will do that.

i'll look around to see if anything small already has a slideshow included.

Puppy Linux? They change the included software around occasionally so you may need to check the current image viewer has a slideshow mode, and what the current browser options are.

Its designed to run off a live USB or CD, so there is no real installation required.

Had a quick look, fbi (linux framebuffer imageviewer ) looks like it's a lightweight but customisable option... after installing it'll run in a loop after issuing a few commands.
