BBB - Better Business Bureau now using Nofollow tags now

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Better Business Bureau has switched to using nofollow tags to link to its members. Just discovered it today when going through their code. I hate when paid directories like that make a switch and dont inform their customers.

Now I need to decide if its worth paying for each year.

I have never bothered with BBB for a link, it has always been for other purposes. However if this is true then a link from BBB is worth even more now simply because SEO's are considering no longer paying for it.

I think, over all, the web is changing to nofollow. Whether that is right or wrong, some see it as necessary SEO to prevent G updates and algos from impacting their traffic/rank.

That's funny, just checked a few and yep, nofollowed.

Never cared much for the bbb, but I am curious what the logic here is, do you have to pay for a link from them (I really don't know)?

If not I wonder what the reason for nofollowing is? Untrusted content? Paid links? Crawl prioritization? (google's suggestions for some cases in which you might want to consider using nofollow)

Maybe just another money grab for the bbb, "oh, you want that un-nofollowed, no problem ;)"

"BBB helps people find and recommend businesses, brands and charities they can trust."

Er, yeah.
