Trying to add a slider into my website.

so im trying to add a slider to my website. i got the code off [dreamcss.com ] but i just really can't understand step 4! someone help? i've inserted the script type etc and changed the ']' to '>' etc, but i just dont understand how to do the rest!

in addition to script as per 1)

<script src="scripts.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

change "jquery.js" and "scripts.js" if required to reflect where you saved them on your server.
