You've seen them - the ubiquitous Web2.1 Accordion, the JavaScript effect that expands and collapses sections of content by clicking on a trigger element. Are they really that bad? The worst thing that ever happened to the web? I thought IE6 held that honour. Or perhaps <marquee>.

Actually, I vote for Netscape 4 as the worst thing. :)

I don't find anything bad about accordions. As with all UI controls, they have specific places where they are useful.
