Learn new words

Notepad++ is a great program, and it makes code writing much easier.
I'm having trouble with the Aspell spell checker though.
I need to add words to the spell checker dictionary (word list) like DOCTYPE, HTML, stylesheet (one word), and other words.
When I click on the "Learn" button, I receive the message
"The ...en.pws file cannot be used for writing."
I've created the en.pws file, and the en.prepl file.
In the en.pws file I put the code "personal_ws-1.1 en 2'
"
µÄ
In the en.prepl file I put the code "personal_repl-1.1 en 0"
After some difficulty and administrative permissions, I stored these files in the Aspell folder.
Rebooted the computer.
But still I get the "en.pws file cannot be used for writing" message
I also right clicked on the aspell folder, and left clicked on properties.
The "Read only" option box is checked and can be unchecked, but it automatically resets to "Read only".

I'd like to have Aspell learn new words

Help!

Have you checked your Notepad++ version - as far as I know the most recent update came out last March, v.7.5.6 iirc. I used Notepad++ for several years. I no longer use Windows (except for some testing) so I can't help much with specific issues. They used to have a bug report and support forum for users, but you'll need to wait for a current user for that help.
