Wordpress WYSIWYG?

Can I create an enter site from scratch visually?

I am about to start a new site and wish to do things quickly. I am fed up with creating content through admin, previewing it, back to admin, preview and so on. I just want to build the entire site live, on the site itself. Can I create navigation, content, tables, columns, images, etc? Since I will mainly be working with posts (rather than pages), would it work with posts?

Does the Divi Builder from Elegant Themes allow for this?

I just want to be able to build the site while viewing what is being done right there and then.

I've played with the Pinegrow WYSIWYG for building Bootstrap pages. It has a version specifically for WordPress. I don't make Wordpress sites so I'm not sure how well the workflow might go.

Divi Builder does seem like your best bet of the page builders I've seen and used (I've not used all of them. Do your own due diligence). Of course, once Project Gutenberg rolls out, this WYSIWYG might be rolled into core wordpress (maybe).

Hi,

Divi visual builder is amazing. If you don't want a highly personalized design for your website, it is better to go for Divi.

It has modules for almost all website components and it is very is to customize them.

Elementor is another visual builder. The free version of the plugin itself is great to build amazing web pages.

Both the Divi and Elementor works on page and post.

Adding content to a site will be the same on Divi as an off the shelf theme. No difference.

Adding the navigation and drop down menus is no faster in Divi than in an off the shelf template. No difference.

A difference between page builders and off the shelf theme is that page builders like Divi can be weighed down with a lot of JS code, some of it redundant.

Building a page from a pre-made template is easier if you already like the layout. Just swap out colors and images and the layout is done. Now just focus on adding content.

It's difficult to get an honest opinion about WordPress page builders by asking in Google. Google shows many sites with affiliate relationships with the products being recommended.

If you want to go the Page Builder route, I think Elementor may have the fastest WP download speed for a page builder and I think it may be W3C compliant (or close to it, as an update to WP broke that recently).

But I found Elementor has it's own way of building sites and it's not particularly intuitive. That means having to learn their way of doing things.

Divi is more intuitive.

You might also want to look at Site Origins Page Builder, a free Page Builder that works with any theme. [wordpress.org...]

I'm not in love with any particular page builder or template. I use a variety. Still looking.
